Southern Pacific Railroad Depot by Barbara Burkett

Signed & Numbered of Barbara Burkett's Pen and Ink depicting the Southern Pacific Train Depot in Port Lavaca, Texas.

Originally The San Antonio & Mexican Gulf Railway completed a line from Lavaca to Victoria in 1861 which eventually became a part of the Southern Pacific System. In her glory days she was host to the excursion train "Old Salty" which transported people from all around for a day of beach bathing, fishing and fun on the pavilion.

Barbara Burkett is a well known Artist and Art Teacher at the Port Lavaca Art Guild. Her paintings can be described as spontaneous, she balances realism with creativity. The mood of the scene she wishes to create determines whether she will use water color, oil or ink & pen.

Santa Ornaments on Texas Oyster Shells by Nina Riley


These unique Christmas Ornaments are individually painted on Texas Oyster Shells by Texas Coastal Artist Nina Riley. Originally from Greece, Nina is an up and coming artist here on the coast and is a member of the Port Lavaca Art Guild.  She loves working with acrylics and oils but her favorite is producing art on non-traditional media.  She uses objects from all around her such as these Texas Oyster Shells, Texas Driftwood, Old Wooden Boxes and much more. Her work can now be seen displayed at the Paper Moon in Old Town Port Lavaca

Best Friends Sharing by Patty Lowrie

This charming painting of Best Friends Sharing is the work of well known Coastal Artist Patty Lowrie.  Patty is head of the Port Lavaca Art Guild and is an accomplished artist and teacher of art.  She is known for her beautiful scenes of the American Southwest done with oil on canvas.  She is also known for the scenes of south Texas she creates on Longhorn Cattle Skulls.  You can find more of Patty's work displayed at the Paper Moon in downtown Port Lavaca, Texas

"Sharks" by Shannon Salyer
